5th June saw the sun shining, a packed South Parade and all kinds of fancy dress characters on the loose.
Chambers Group have been fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust this year and with a 30 strong team taking part in this years Great Midlands Fun Run, we’re hoping it’ll be a good one. Donning their neon tutus, or pushing a Ford Ka round the 8.5 mile course the team are hoping to raise in excess of £1,000 for the chosen charity. It wasn’t just Chambers staff taking part this year, it was a true family affair with 6 under 7s helping raise funds for a great cause.
The Chambers Group Crash Test Team did amazingly well, managing to pull the red Ford Ka over the finish line in 2 hours 20minutes, but we do need to say a massive thank you to the kind people of Sutton Coldfield who stepped in to help them up the nemesis that is Cardiac Hill, without you, we don’t know when or if they’d have made it.
The kids also did a great job and made it over the finish line in 2 hours 30minutes, and a massive well done to the parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, who helped get them there!
The day, as always, was a massive success. It brings the community together and lightens everyone’s hearts. It’s fantastic to see so many people taking part in such a great event helping raise money for others, so a massive thank you needs to be said to the events organiser Tracey Spare, without whom this iconic Sutton event wouldn’t take place.
If you haven’t donated yet, don’t worry, there is still time. You can help us help others by donating on our just giving page here. Thank you in advance!
