HORROR fans from around Staffordshire descended on Tamworth Castle last Friday to take part in the much anticipated Zombie-Apocalypse.

140 brave souls battled their way around the towns first-ever Zombie Apocalypse in an attempt to reach the towns “safe-zone”. Participants were not only greeted with fantastically frightening zombies but were also able to take a sneak peak around the Zombie Control Cars – supplied by Chambers Hyundai.

Of the 140 people who started the evening only 90 survived, with 50 being infected with the zombie virus.

Cllr Rob Pritchard, Tamworth Borough Council Deputy Leader, said: “The Zombie Apocalypse event was such a success that we are looking to repeat it again next year and I would like to say a big thanks to everyone who took part.”

Danielle Howes, Marketing Manager at Chambers explained: “We were very excited to be able to support this event in its first year, and really hope we get the opportunity to come down again. In keeping with the event we had the cars decorated with some bloody handprints and had actors hiding in them to surprise any unsuspecting participants.”

“We are always keen to work with and support the local community and if we get the opportunity to have some fun, even better.”
